1890: India 1 a. brown on blue postal stationery envelope to Aniche, France endorsed "Via Bombay and Brindisi through French Post Office Modane, Stamped Three Annas", cancelled at "Nowgong" (Nov 19). Notation of "2 a." possibly paid in cash in blue manuscript, however struck with circular "T" marking on despatch. Carried on the "Arcadia" with 'Sea Post Office' cds (Nov 22) on reverse.
