1870/74: Canada Small Queen 1 c. orange, 3 c. deep rose-red, perf. 12, single and a horizontal pair used on 1874 cover to Paris tied by Montreal duplexes (July 14) in black. Manuscript "Insufficiently prepaid" in red ink at left; thence via London (July 27) with red cds on reverse and framed "GB / 2F.-" accountancy marking applied in black. Struck on arrival with handstruck '12' décimes charge marking for double rate, the original franking being ignored: tariff of 1 July 1871.
