    1859: 10 gr. 'azzuro cupo' in a horizontal pair, a fresh and fine multiple with fair to huge margins all round, in a deep shade, tied by 'ferro di cavallo' handstamp to registered entire letter from Palermo to Girgenti. Despatch datestamp (June 7, 1859) and oval ASSICURATA alongside. File folds just mentioned for accuracy, an exceptional franking paying the rate for a heavy letter of five sheets, doubled due to the registration. Signed Mondolfo & Grioni; certs. A.
