    1860: 20 c. dark-blue and 80 c. 'giallo arancio scuro', two fresh adhesives with fair to large margins, well embossed, tied by light "FIRENZE 25 GEN 61" cds, framed PD alongside, on envelope to St. Petersburg. Reverse with Milano transit (Jan 26), Chur - St. Gallen ambulant (Jan 28), Leipzig - Berlin ambulant (Jan 30) and St. Petersburg arrival (Jan 23, julian) datestamps and handwritten 'wfr 3' (silbergroschen) credited for the journey beyond Prussia. Due to small envelope size the two adhesives are glued at or over the edge of the cover, nevertheless an attractive and interesting franking paying correctly the 100 c. single rate to Russia via the German-Austrian Postal Union, in this case from the Toscana prior to the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy. Cert. E. Diena (1983) Sassone = € 4'680.rnNote: The cover is directed to Adelaide Ristori, Marquisa del Grillo (1822-1906) at the Imperial Theater in St. Petersbug . Ristori was an actress known worldwide in the second half of the 19th century.
