    1864: 1 baj. 'verde scuro' in combination with 1867 2 baj. 'bianco verdastro' and 1862 5 baj. 'rosa carminio', three fresh and fine single adhesives with fair to large margins, tied by grill obliterator with "ARSOLI 2 APR. 67" despatch cds and ASSICURATA handstamp alongside, on registered cover directed to Roma. Raybaudi (1998).rnNote: After the introduction of the Lira pontifica as new currency in the Papal states in June 1866 and prior to the introduction of the new adhesives in centesimi currency, the old bajocchi stamps had to be used furtheron. The 8 baj. franking on this cover was equal to 40 centesimi, which was the correct registered double rate franking from office to office in the new rate of July 9, 1866.rnProvenance: Collection Henry C.
