    Ingoing 1887-92: ½d. vermillion, a fine and fresh horizontal pair, tied by oval Portuguese Shipmail's "CORREIO RES. ORIENTE 22 OCT. 99" datestamp, on cover endorsed "Posted on High Seas" and directed to Bishop's Stortford. Reverse with arrival cds (Nov 2, 1899). Interesting usage, franked for the British inland part of the journey only with one penny, presumably given to the crew of the ingoing vessel and therefore not taxed.
