1872 (March 25): Entire letter from Metz to La Ferè, bearing a combination franking of Germany Small Shield 2 gr. blue (Mi 5) and France Cérès 25 c. blue type I (Yvert 60A). The German Imperial adhesive was tied by framed "METZ 25 / 3 72 6-7 N." cds, the French adhesive in transit by "PARIS ÉTRANGER 26 MARS 72".
