    1854: Entire letter from Chaource to Paris bearing Napoléon imperf. 20 c. blue Type I with prominent plate flaw at top right, located on position 18 of composition G2, a superb example with huge even sheet margins all round, tied by crisp Gros Chiffres '882' numeral lozenge. Despatch cds (Dec 23, 62) alongside, reverse with Belfort - Paris ambulant cds of the next day. A wonderful usage, also an early usage of the Gros Chiffres obliterator on the imperforated definitives which was officially introduced not earlier than January 1, 1863. Signed Calves.
