    Austrian Shipmail, Origin Markings for ship letters, Lake of Garda 1856 (Dec): Local lettersheet from Riva in Tyrol and thereby in Austria, despatched to Solferino in Lombardy, bearing Lombardo-Veneto 15 c. rose, machine paper in type IIIa (Sassone Lombardo -Veneto 20), a fine and fresh adhesive with good to large margins, tied by octagonal framed "RIVA VAPORE" handstamp in black (Müller 3424a). Three ring "PESCHIERA 14 / 12" transit cds alongside and reverse with "CASTIGLIONE DELLE STIVIERE 15 DIC" transit cds. A rare usage of a Lombardo-Veneto adhesive in Austria, an attractive shipmail usage. Cert. E. Diena (1986) Ferchenbauer = € 2'900.
