    1860: Thick Figures 60 c. brown-lilac, a fine example in a deep shade (Type 5) and 120 c. blue with clear to good margins (Type 3), used on 1864 entire letter endorsed 'per Stella' to Buenos Aires, tied by oval framed "Admon de Correos / Montevideo" datestamp (Feb 9) in black. A scarce double rate cover and extremely fine, with fascinating content: "You will have heard about the accident to the 'Menai' (Steamer)...there was great excitement in the town last evening at 10 min. past 7 the alarm guns were fired and all the National Guard called to the cuartels .....some of the (Flores) Forces had advanced to Toledo...".
