Rothschild in London endorsed 'via Cartagena per vapor Ingles', prepaid to the border with handstruck "25" and oval BOGOTÁ / FRANCA in blue, reverse flap with very fine British P.O. "CARTHAGENA" cds of transit in black (Dec 16). Charged '2/-' due in manuscript on arrival (Jan 16, 1857). Scarce and attractive usage.
