    1856 (Oct 20): Prepaid entire letter to Newark, NJ, USA with St. Petersburg despatch on reverse in black, endorsed "P. Bateau à vapeur de Lubeck" and "via Liverpool Prussian Closed Mail", struck in transit with "Aus Russland" in black and FRANCO, "AACHEN / PAID 25 Cts." in red (Oct 27) and thence via Liverpool on Collins Line Steamer "Baltic" with "N. YORK AM. PKT / 30 / PAID" arrival in red (Nov 10). Sold with another cover from the same correspondence, not as fine, but remarkable prepaid Transatlantic covers from Russia.
