1882: 25 st. blue and pale blue and Turkey 20 pa. red and rose Empire Issue used as postage due on foreign letter dated 8 April 1886 from Plovdiv to Constantrinople, Turkey, franked at the single foreign rate. Due to the annexation of Eastern Roumelia by Bulgaria, Turkey refused to accept mail as franked from formerly "Eastern Roumelia" and levied postage due. The 25 st. stamp is cancelled with the bilingual Plovdiv double circle in blue, the 20 pa. stamps are cancelled Constantinople with Stamboul cds adjacent. A faint postage due handstamp "T " in circle on front. The cover is somewhat incomplete, two stamps are slightly damaged. An important document of the time.
