    Pacific War 1878/83: 1 c. green and 5 c. dull lake (4 examples) rouletted, all used on registered 1883 cover with embossed crest "Legation de Chile en el Peru" mailed from Lima to Pasaroean, Netherlands East Indies, all tied by "LIMA / PRINCIPAL" datestamps (July 23) in black. Registration label on obverse and oval framed "CERTIFICADO / LIMA" on reverse and scarce "San Francisco" registered label of transit and datestamp in violet (Aug 20). Backstamped at Batavia (Oct 13), Soerabaja and Pasaroean. Sensibly opened for Exhibit display, an extraordinary destination and a rare and most attractive cover.
