    1877: 5 c. lake rouletted, two examples, used on 1879 cover to Genova, Italy endorsed 'por Magellan', tied by 'Valparaiso' cds's (Sept 10) in black and by triangular "T" mark in black. Carried by British Packet and dropped at Bordeaux with "Pays. Etr. / Paq. Ang. Bordeaux" entry marking in red at left (Oct 17). Marked with '80c.' handstamp in blue (British notation) and '13' decimi charge in manuscript, taxed on arrival with 1870 Postage Due 30 c. and 1 l. tied by Genova datestamps (Oct 20). Top flap missing but a charming and rare cover.
