    1852 (Nov 22): Lettersheet from Milano to Bologna, franked by 1850 Carta a mano 15 c. red type III and 30 c. reddish brown type I on ribbed paper 'carta a coste verticali', two fresh and fine adhesives with large to enormous margins and vivid colours, each stamp tied by clear framed one line "MILANO : 22 - 11 : 52" datestamp with AFFRANCATA handstamp in black and "DOPO LA PARTENZA" in red alongside, reverse with Bologna arrival cds (Nov 24). A most attractive cover directed to the Cardinal Carlo Oppizzoni in Bologna, correctly franked with 45 c. in the third rayon and the second month of the Austro-Papal postal convention which became effective on October 1st, 1852.
