    1861: Paris printing 10 l. red-orange on blue showing a prominent offset of the '10' figures on the reverse onto the face together with 20 l. blue on bluish, two superb adhesives with good to large margins and vibrant colour, on 1861 cover from Syros to Kalamata tied by '67' numeral of Sparta with matching cds (Oct 18) in black and Greek PED handstamp in red alongside. Reverse with Athens transit cds (Oct. 19), then by Greek steamer to Kalamata, where it arrived on October 22. Light horizontal file fold well away from stamps and postmarks, a very attractive cover showing the 30 lepta inter-island rate, in the first month of issue. Cert. Holcombe (1996) Hellas 4a+5a.
