    1842 (July 11): Entire letter from Tacna to Cobija, via Arica struck with heavily inked "VAPOR PERU / P" in deep indigo blue ink. Extensive worm-holes do not greatly detract from a rare usage. The Steamship sailed from Callao on August 7 and arrived at Valparaiso on August 19.
