    PSNC 1879: Cover from Valparaiso to Plymouth, Devonshire, endorsed "via New York", franked on despatch by Great Britain 1874/80 6 d. grey pl. 16 tied by "C30" obliterator with VALPARAISO cds above (Jan 18). Carried by PSNC Steamer with three line dated "PANAMA / TRANSIT" in black (Feb 8). Passed to the US Consular Office and two USA 1879 Taylor 5 c. blue (Scott 179) added for onward transmission and tied by "New York / 2" duplexes in black (Feb 24). Reverse with Plymouth (March 10) arrival cds in black. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 191. A delightful and rare combination usage. Cert.
