    PSNC & Messageries Impériales 1880: Cover from Chillan to France endorsed "via Coronelle" and "via Magellan y Burdeos", franked by 1877 5 c. lake in a block of four tied by "Chillan" datestamps (June 320) in black. Endorsement ignored and carried on PSNC Steamer to Panama where three lined dated "PANAMA / TRANSIT" applied (July 26) -nearly a month later. Triangular 'T' marking and passed to French Office with rare octagonal "PANAMA / LIG. A. PAQ. FR. No. 1" datestamp in red (Salles fig. 1413 bis), thence on "Le Washington" from Colon to St. Nazaire with arrivals on reverse (Aug 24) and charged '12' décimes handstruck. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 195. A fine and unusual cover.
