    British Post Office 1870 (April 18): Prepaid cover from Montevideo to Montreal, Canada, endorsed "per City of Brussels" (Tait & Co. Line Steamer), struck on despatch with "MONTEVIDEO / PAID" cds in red (April 18) with manuscript charge "1/5d." in red. Circular "FALMOUTH PACKET" datestamp (May 22) in black (Robertson P3), scarce on incoming Mail and London cds of transit (May 23) in red. Carried on Allan Line Steamer "Austria" from Liverpool with gothic "2" (pence) Canadian credit in red. Reverse with Montreal arrival cds (June 6). Only two covers recorded carried by a Tait & Co. ship and a rare "Double Atlantic Crossing". Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 117. A delightful cover.
