    Messageries Impériales 1879 (Nov 25): Cover from Montevideo to St. Loubes, near Bordeaux endorsed "Par Messageries Maritimes" franked by Uruguay 1877 5 c. green, rouletted, used with France Type Sage 1 fr. olive-green each tied by octagonal "MONTEVIDEO / PAQ. FR. J No. 6" datestamp (Nov 25) unusually struck in red (Salles fig. 1076). Carried on the "Gironde", reverse with flap missing and St. Loubes arrival cds (Dec 21). A scarce combination cover.
