    Messageries Impériales 1866 (Feb 4): Cover from Buenos Ayres to Olivone, Switzerland at double rate franked by 1862/63 80 c. carmine, a single and a vertical pair, tied by dotted Anchor lozenge. Carried on the "Carmel" to Rio and trans-shipped to the "Guienne" for the Transatlantic crossing with "BUENOS AYRES" Consular datestamp (Feb 4) in black at left (Salles fig. 1058) and octagonal Paquebot "CONF. ARGENTINE / CARMEL" datestamp (Feb 6) also in black (Salles fig. 1034). Reverse with Basel-Olten TPO and Fiasca arrival cds. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 107. Minor imperfections due to journey but a scarce cover to an unusual destination at this date.
