    Messageries Impériales 1863 (Jan 13): Cover from Buenos Aires to Saintes, France franked by 1859 Cabecitas 1 p. blue, fine impression, good to large margins all round, tied by oval lozenge of dots in black. Octagonal "BUENOS AYRES" Consular datestamp (Jan 16) above with slug error - '63' with '3' inverted and '6' missing (Salles fig. 1058 var). Carried on the "Saintonge" to Rio and thence on the "Guienne" to Bordeaux with reverse showing arrival (Feb 19) and charged '80' décimes due in black. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 104. File fold away from adhesive, an attractive and rare cover.
