    Falmouth Packets 1838 (Jan 23): Entire letter written during the first French Blockade of the River Plate, sent from Montevideo to London and endorsed "p. Packet". Struck on despatch with fine straight line "MONTVO." handstamp in red. Carried on the "HMS Cockatrice" to Rio and thence on the "HMS Reindeer" to Falmouth at quadruple rate. Reverse with "London" double arc arrival (May 15) in black and charged "10/3d." due in manuscript. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 102.
