    1848: Embossed 10 d. brown and 1847 1 s. green, the 1 s. with large margins all round and the 10 d. imperceptibly touched at right, used on OHMS refolded 1855 large part cover to London, cancelled by "Carlisle / 165" Sideways duplex (June 26, code B) and the 10 d. by "165" numeral obliterator. The cover, with internal reinforcement, mentions enclosures. Reverse with London arrival (June 27) in red and Revenue Office 'received' cancel inside of the same date. The Karl Louis Card Index records just one other internal 10 d. + 1 s. franking, used from Cheltenham to Bristol.
