    1841: 1 d. red-brown on blued paper, lettered SJ, large margins all round and 1841 2 d. blue on blued paper, pl. 3, lettered KB, with good to large margins all round, each used on individual entire letters addressed to Stanhope Burn Ironworks, Weardale. The Oct 20, 1847 1 d. envelope with complete contents and the superb stamp tied by neat WOLSINGHAM undated circle in blue with equally fine strike on reverse; the June 15, 1848 2 d. entire letter (contents mention an enclosure) similarly tied by a double strike of the WOLSINGHAM undated circle in blue. Strangely omitted from the Rockoff & Jackson opus, the small correspondence was of 20 covers, 18 bearing the 1 d. red, the 2 d. entire being unique. Neither cover has been on the market since the original find thirty years ago, a dramatic and beautiful pair Gi B1vb = £ 4'500 + E1wf = £ 14`000.rnProvenance: 2 d. entire: RL, London, 21 Feb 1989, lot 2486.
