    1858 (July 15): Letter sheet from London to Aleppo, franked with 1855-57 1 s. green, a fresh adhesive tied by bold '23' numeral in barred oval, oval PD in red alongside, thimble "BT LONDON JY - 15 58" despatch cds in blue on reverse. Front struck with French "ANGL. 16 JUIL. 58 AMB. CALAIS" entry cds, reverse with Paris and Marseille transit cds's. Rare arrival "POSTE FRANCAISE D'ALEP" handstamp in blue of the French PO in Aleppo on front. Horizontal file fold, some edge wear and toning, nevertheless a desirable combination of British franking and French arrival handstamp.
