    1859 (May 9): 6 d. deep green, imperforate, a used example with just clear margin at base and large margins on the remaining three sides, lifted for checking and hinged back into place, used on 1859 prepaid cover from Port of Spain to France tied in black, with fine strike of "♚ / PAID / AT / TRINIDAD" in red and corresponding '2/1d.' rate in manuscript at left. Reverse with 'Trinidad' double arc cds and single ring despatch (1 / Aug 16) in black. London transit cds (Sept 15) where treated as fully paid with circular PD above and Elbeuf arrival on reverse. A rare stamp on letter and a charming entire. Cert. BPA (1964).
