    1862 (Sept): 6 d. deep green, no wmk., rough perf. 14-16, a used example on 1865 cover to the Duke of Polignac in Paris, tied by Kingstown "A10" obliterator in black, the balance of the rate (2d.) prepaid with the addition of a superb strike of "♚ / PAID / AT / ST. VINCENT" used due to a shortage of 1 d. stamps on the Island with '7d.' credit in red manuscript. 'St. Vincent' despatch cds in black (Feb 24) and 'London / Paid' cds in red of transit (March 16) with three strikes of the oval 'PD' applied (one on the adhesive) to denote full prepayment to Paris.
