    1901: De La Rue artist's Essay for proposed bicoloured Llandovery Falls issue, Imperforate on large thick card marked "A" and "Dupl." dated "Jan 2nd. 01" in manuscript, with the Falls vignette printed in deep indigo-blue and the frame overlapping the vignette hand-painted in bright yellow-green, as submitted to the Crown Agents with eleven other examples on Jan 2, 1901. Superb, illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 4307. Beautiful.
