    1863/77: 1 d. scarlet-vermilion, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 14, a single example and a horizontal strip of five, used on 1881 Government embossed registered cover (crest on reverse) from Nassau to Halifax, Nova Scotia all tied by six strikes of the "A05" obliterator in black with circular REGISTERED / NASSAU datestamp in red below (June 30). Reverse with 'St. John's / Canada' cds and Halifax arrival (July 13). A wonderful and rare cover. Cert. RPSL (1968).rnProvenance: Collection W.S.
