    1733/34: Republic of Venice - Incoming mail by sea perfumed on arrival in Venice, two merchant's letters from Aleppo (Syria) to the Venetian Noble Niccolo Carragiani, incl. 1733 (Dec. 19) letter arriving July 5, 1734 via ship of Cpt. Svugazze C.D.C. (Che Dio Conservi)  and 1734 letter (Nov. 12) sent via Constantinople and Smyrne, both opened and disinfected on arrival.
