    1871: Envelope with French vessel from Buenos Ayres to Toulouse, bearing horizontal strip of four of Cérès 25 c. blue type I, tied by light strikes of Ancre lozenge with crisp octagonal "BUENOS-AYRES PAQ. FR. J N° 2 11 JANV. 74" datestamp as well as framed PD in red alongside. Reverse with French ambulant transit and arrival cds's (Feb 9). Few nibbed perfs, part of backflap missing, nevertheless an attractive cover, correct franking to pay the rate with French Messageries from Argentina to France in the July 1871 tariff. Signed Calves.
