    1870: Cover from Alger to Genova, bearing Bordeaux 40 c. orange, a fresh example with brilliant colour and giant margins all round, tied by Gros Chiffres '2249' numeral lozenge of Marseille, despatch "ALGER BAT. A VAP. 13 JUIL. 71" cds and framed PD in red alongside. Reverse with the Marseille transit and Genova arrival cds's. Item cut at left, nevertheless an interesting an attractive item from Algeria via the Motherland to Italy showing a superb franking to pay the 40 c. Italy rate. Signed A. Diena.
