    1870: Cover from Marseille to Madrid, bearing Bordeaux 80 c. rose, a fresh and fine example with vivid colour and good to large margins, tied by Gros Chiffres '2240' numeral lozenge, despatch cds (Aug. 26, 1871) and framed PD in red alongside. Reverse with Cette à Bordeaux ambulant and Madrid arrival cds (Aug 29). An attractive presentation of the double rate to Spain. Signed Bühler Yvert = € 1'000 / Maury 49 = € 1'100.
