    1870: Cover from Besançon to Toulouse, bearing Bordeaux 40 c. vermilion orange 'vermillionné', a fresh example with brilliant colour and good to large margins all round, tied by railway "BES. P." lozenge of the Besançon Paris line, despatch "GARE DE BESANCON 19 DEC. 71" cds alongside. Reverse with ambulant cds's and arrival cds (Dec  21). Archival folds not affecting stamps or postmarks, a desirable cover. Signed Goebel.
