    1870: Cover from Marseille to Mariupol at the Sea of Azov Russia, bearing Siège 40 c. orange and pair of Cérès 30 c. brown, tied by light Gros Chiffre '2240' numeral lozenge and Marseille despatch cds (July 12, 1873), framed PD in red as well as Russian OPLATSHENO (Paid) and FRANCO and cyrillic Mariupol arrival cds (July 11, 1873, day date slug inverted) alongside. Reverse with Paris and Vienna transit cds's, Russian "POD WOLOCZYSKA 17 / 7 73" entry cds as well as railway line no. 47-48 ambulant cds. Some toning spots on the inside and at the perforation, nevertheless an appealing and interesting cover showing the 1 franc rate to Russia. Signed Calves.
