    First Printing Group 1865: 1 real yellow-buff, fine impression, a horizontal pair, positions 35-36, position 35 with Plate flaw NE square broken, used on 1865 cover to Ambato in combination with ½ real bright blue, early impression, cancelled by two fine strikes of "Quito / Franca" datestamp (January 18) in black. Manuscript endorsement "5 oz." at upper right. A very rare and most appealing cover - the earliest recorded usage of the 1 real value on cover.
