    Third Printing Group 1867/68: ½ real very deep blue on white wove paper, a fine example with four large margins paying the internal rate on 1868 cover to Paris, France tied by "Quito / Franca" datestamp in black, with additional strike alongside (April 18). Reverse with GUAYAQUIL British P.O. cds in black (April 25), three line dated PANAMA / TRANSIT on obverse (April 29) in black. Thence carried by French Paquebot 'La Floride' with circular 'LIGNE A / PAQ. FR. No. 3' datestamp on reverse (May 1) and Paris arrival cds (May 24) where charged with handstruck '12' décimes due to pay. An exceptional and extremely rare cover to a Transatlantic destination.
