  • Lot# : 40 Guatemala

1873: Lithographed 1 peso dull yellow, perf. 11¾, an unused block of four of rich colour, centred somewhat to left, the lower two stamps with thin spots and each with tiny black ink spots not greatly detracting from the frontal appearance, unused without gum. A rarity of Central American and classic philately. Unique Gi 6 = £ 1'000+/Scott = $ 1'400+.rnrnProvenance: Illustriertes Briefmarken-Journal, July 1932.rn                       Collection David E. Lindwall, 2016.rnNote: The first stamp shows break in the inner oval frame line above "UN" of "UN PESO", Lind type 83.
