    1855 (Oct 23): Entire letter from Balinas to Hamburg, Germany struck on despatch with circular CORREOS DE VENEZUELA / BALINAS / FRANCA in black with handstruck "1¾" rate marking at upper left. Manuscript routing 'via Blohm Lind & Co. de La Guaira' at left and reverse showing oval framed BLOHM LIND & CO / PUERT CABELLO Forwarding Agent's cachet in blue. Routing deleted when forwarded with 'per Amazone' added at top of entire. An unusual destination, the entire with docketing of receipt (Feb 27) noted internally. Rare.
