    1897: Revalidation '1897-1898' diagonal surcharge on 1894 2 c. red-brown pair and horizontal strip of three, used on 1897 cover to Colchester tied by 'Guayaquil' datestamps in black (April 17). Reverse with Colchester arrival cds (May 13). Slight age spots but a scarce issue on cover..
