    1868/69: 500 c. black, Eleven Stars, perf. 12, an extraordinary hand-painted example, stamp size in black and Chinese white, on gummed paper. A most unusual item, possibly an Essay or Proof but status unknown, nevertheless most attractive and the first this describer has seen and indeed, the only example Brian Moorhouse had encountered.
