    Taylor 5 c. blue, three covers to Japan with single frankings: one with oval "Too Late" struck in red addressed to Tokyo; second cover an 1877 usage with "Yokohama / Paid All" in red; third cover to Kobe with "Yokohama / Japan" cds in black and reverse showing scarce "Hiogo / Japan" datestamp in black. Imperfections but a scarce trio. Note: The 5 c. rate to Japan was applicable by Convention from April 1, 1876; Japan was admitted to the UPU on June 1, 1877.
