    1859 (Sept 14): Cover from Jacksonville/Oregon with fine cds of despatch marked "30 Paid" in black datestamp, mailed to Canton Aargau, Switzerland franked by 1857 10 c. green in a horizontal strip of three cancelled in manuscript and by red "N. York / 7 / Br. Pkt. / Paid" cds (Oct 18). "Franco Preuss: / resp.Vereinsl:Ausg:Gr" (Van Der Linden fig. 1505) struck in red, with Aachen transit and reverse with Basel cds (Nov 3). Stamps on top edge of cover but a very rare usage in the same year as Oregon became a US State.
