    Postal Connections to Overseas - Australia 1869 (Aug 29): Entire letter from Smirna to Melbourne, Victoria, endorsed "Via Alexandria", franked with 1867 5 s. red and 15 s. brown in a horizontal pair, fresh and fine adhesives, tied by "LLOYD AGENZIE SMIRNE 29/8" cds in black (Tranmer fig. 8). Reverse with Alexandria transit (Sept 6) and Melbourne arrival (Oct 26) cds's. An attractive and rare entire to a very scarce destination at this date, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 481. Cert.
