    Postal Connections to Overseas - Egypt 1870 (April 10): Printed matter cover from Cairo to Cologne with company cachet of Victor Dembczak, Cairo on reverse and corresponding receiver's docketing inside, franked with 1867 2 s. yellow, a fresh single and vertical pair, tied by "WIEN 10 / 4 70" cds's in black, reverse with "COELN 11 4 11-12 V" arrival cds. Minor perforation irregularities, not distracting from the rarity of this Usage of Levante stamps in Austria, illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 467 and in the Ferchenbauer handbook part IV on page 615. Cert. Ferchenbauer (1988).rnNote: Printed matter double rate of 6 soldi from the Levant to the GAPU, written on November 1 in Cairo and franked in Cairo or in Alexandria at the Austrian P.O. The Printed matter cover travelled via Trieste with the next vessel, leaving Alexandria on November 4, arrival in Trieste on November 9. The stamps were tied in Vienna on November 10, in transit. Alternatively the printed matter was prepared and franked for mailing in Cairo and then bundled for despatch in Vienna.
