    International Postal Connections to Europe - Russia 1866c: Unpaid cover from Beirut to St. Petersburg, struck with "BERUTTI 15/11" cds in brown (Tranmer fig. 3), reverse with oval Triest transit datestamp and Warsaw transit cds in red (Dec 7, Julian calendar). On front '10 / 15' soldi were noted for the Levant and Austria charges, in addition the total due of '27' kopecks. Cover roughly opened and shortened at top, but an appealing cover to an extraordinary destination at this date. Illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 438.rnNote: In spite of a Russian Levant Post Office in Beirut, this item was mailed via the Austrian Post. The rate includes 10 soldi for the Levant, 10 soldi for Austria and 15 soldi for Russia.
