    International Postal Connections to Europe - Italy 1873 (Jan 1): Entire letter at double rate from Constantinople to Florence, franked with horizontal pair of 1867 25 s. lilac, tied by ornamental "CONSTANTINOPEL 1 / 1" cds in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 385), "P.D." in black alongside. Reverse with Firenze arrival and distribution datestamps (Jan 9). Minor perforation irregularities and some toning, part of address scored out, an interesting cover with a rare multiple franking, illustrated and discussed in the Ferchenbauer handbook part IV at page 566. Ferchenbauer = € 4'500.
